A delta is, by definition, a place of change and of transition. In Southern Louisiana, the delta faces a crisis of land erosion and habitat destruction as the result of both centuries of human engineering and climate change. Plaqumine's Parish, the southernmost region of New Orleans, holds Earth's fastest disappearing land. The Vietnamese shrimping community, fluent in an adaptive resiliency stemming back to post-Vietnam War immigration, has become a pivotal and political apex of a landscape in crisis.
